SMITH & FONG OPENS PUGET SOUND WAREHOUSE FOR
BAMBOO FLOORING, PLYWOOD PRODUCTS

Seattle, WA – Smith & Fong Co., manufacturer of Plyboo bamboo flooring and plywood, today announced it has opened a Puget Sound-area warehouse to service an expanding customer base in the Pacific Northwest.

“The Pacific Northwest is a sophisticated region of the country, especially with regard to green building and sustainability,” Smith & Fong Vice President Angus Stocks said. “We already have a significant customer base in the area now, and demand is increasing. We felt the time was right to put down roots in the market.”

Smith & Fong plans to stock its full line of high-end, architectural-grade bamboo flooring and plywood at its SeaTac-area warehouse starting in January, supplying Plyboo products for standard distribution throughout the Northwest.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in San Francisco, Smith & Fong Co. was the first U.S. company to manufacture bamboo flooring in China for sale in North America and is committed to innovation and sustainability. In 1996 the firm began producing bamboo plywood, followed by coconut palm flooring and plywood products in 2000.
